DIY - Colorful Paper Boats

Whoa! Glad to know that i finally got some time to make a DIY post in the middle of this crazy-routine of a motherhood! So i ended up playing with Origami this afternoon because i want Naaya to have some fun-activity indoors. I mean, No iPad, No TV, just some creativity from an old times.... I decided to make a paper boats because it is simple and its the only thing i remember :p

It was a fun activity for us. Can't believe how a simple thing like an Origami could make our day! When i put the paper boats on the tub she was like, "Waaaaa agus" (Wow, bagus!) and she's trying to spell the "Boats" word and you can hear she said "bot bot bot" for the next two minutes... Hahaha. Well, even though little Naaya sank her ships within a few minutes, it is a sure way to have fun indoors!

Room for Love

It was a lovely day around the neighborhood, and as usual, I took Naaya outside to get some fresh air. But this time is a bit different, she's walking around with her new friend, Noah. They had just moved into our neighborhood a month ago.

As we all know, it’s become practically an expected social norm these days to live next to someone for years and never get to know them. But, i think greeting new neighbors is always a nice gesture to make a great first impression and i want my children to learn about how important it is to building a solid relationship with the neighbors. Who doesn't want their children to be compassionate, loving little fellows who grow up to be compassionate, loving adults? Well, i want. If i'm not loving toward my neighbors, then neither will Naaya. When we saw them playing around our house, we say hello and introduce ourself as one of their neighbors, then we stopping by their lovely house and spend some good time with them. Naaya seems to be happy with the fact that she got a new friends to play with everyday. Lesson learned today: There's always room in the heart for more love, right? Welcome to the neighborhood! ❤️

Now that Naaya is almost 2, it's a great time to start making plans for that reading corner that i've been wanting to get to.

So i've been working on it these past few weeks and i tried to keep it simple. There's a corner where i line up the books neatly and i let some other books standing beautifully with its cute covers. There's a transparent-glass background that can be written, also a large drawer at the bottom where Naaya can store some of her favorite things. Ooooh, i'm in love!

Whatever you build for your children, for me it doesn’t need to be super crazy fancy. It just needs to be pretty, I'm a maniac in putting things in aesthetically pleasing places. I really appreciate beauty, and i feel good when i'm around fresh, new, and clean things. I'm in love with this corner already, even though there's still a lot more to go! I still need the beanbag chair and some cute cushions to make it perfect... I can't wait to see how this corner will turn out! ❤️ I'll see you on the next post! ❤️

Books, books, books! ❤️

The only thing i keep in mind is that i want to show my little bunny that sometimes it's the simple things that make life great and that less can be more.

I love you, little Naaja :)

Hey Sew-Sista! Do you remember the day when you was a kid and you saw your mother or grandmother sewing some stuff, working with a needles and threads? Well, i'm one of those kid who saw my grandmother making a cute-tiny clothes for all of her dogs and i'm in love with every clothes she made that time. I really want to learn about basic sewing and my mother has thought me a little when i was in Junior High School. But then, i really didn't have time to spent some time with needles and threads anymore but since my hubby just brought me a new Singer Sewing Machine last month, which is super cool, now i spent some of my free time sitting in front my sewing machine and learning how to sew from YouTube and from Inaaya's Fashion Designer :D The first thing i learn to sew was a headband because it is simple to make, and i can create headbands for Inaaya. Who doesn't need a stretchy fabric headbands? I personally use it when washing my face or wearing mask and my baby use it when her hair got so messy. We have a lot of stretchy fabric headbands at home and when i was looking at it, i thought to myself, "Omg, i could have just made this by myself!" So i will post the tutorial real soon, and this was the picture of Naaya wearing my DIY-headband (Sorry, it's slightly oversized on her head because of the wrong measurement :p)
